What Are Eligible Days?

Last Updated: Jun 18, 2015 04:44PM EDT
Days

When planning over multiple days, all days of the selected planning horizon are by default eligible for service.
You can anyway specify if an Order can only be served on specific days by clicking on the tab Days.

Click on This Order is eligible for service --> on selected days only and select/deselect days (white = not eligible; light blue = eligible).

The Eligible Days for your orders do not relate to real calendar days. So, Day 1 can be Sunday or Day 1 can be Monday. This will depend on what you pick.

In a 5 day work week most users choose to assign their Monday stops to Day 1. In a 7 Day work week most users choose to assign Day 1 to Sunday. This is your choice!

This is how you can format the data in Excel:
  • 1 means the order can only be served on Day 1.
  • 1-7 will mean the order is eligible for service on days 1-7. Viamente will pick the best possible day.
  • 1,7 means the order can be served on Day 1 OR Day 7
  • 1-5,7 means the order can be served on any day from 1 to 5 OR on Day 7.
 Let's say you were planning over a month (31 days)

 If we assume that Day 1 = Sunday:

 The 2nd Monday of the month would be Day 9
 The 4th Monday of the month would be Day 23

 So you'd do:

 Order 1: Eligible Day = 9
 Order 2: Eligible Day = 23

 1 = Sunday
 2 = Monday
 3 = Tuesday
 4 = Weds
 5 = Thursday
 6 = Friday
 7 = Saturday
 8 = Sunday
 9 = Monday
 10 = Tuesday
 11 = Weds
 12 = Thursday
 13 = Friday
 14 = Saturday
 15 = Sunday
 16 = Monday
 17 = Tuesday
 18 = Weds
 19 = Thursday
 20 = Friday
 21 = Saturday
 22 = Sunday
 23 = Monday
 24 = Tuesday
 25 = Weds
 26 = Thursday
 27 = Friday
 28 = Saturday
 29 = Sunday
 30 = Monday
 31 = Tuesday
