How are Export files formatted?

Last Updated: Nov 05, 2013 11:39AM EST
As you know, there are several ways to export optimized Route Plans: CSV or Excel files are one option, but also printed driving directions for example; Routes can also be sent via email, directly to smartphones or to GPS devices in order to simplify procedures and to allow Team Leaders and Drivers to choose what suits the Fleet best.

This article describes one more option: exporting data. Some users may in fact want to automatize their process by importing these files into their IT system.

The table below gives you a description of the output format. Please note that the format of Export files cannot be customized.

Field Description
Driver This field shows the Driver to whom Work Orders have been assigned
Day This field shows which Day this Work Order will be served on
Schedule This is the estimation of the Expected Time of Arrival
Type This field shows which address this line refers to: Start address, Order address or End Destination address.
Name Same meaning as in the input template: this optional field is provided solely to help you identify the Order. It does not affect the optimization process.
Address Depending on the Type field, this is the address of the Driver's Start, of the Work Order or the Driver's End Destination
Time Window Start Same meaning as in the input template.
This optional field shows the earliest time allowed to begin service at this Order.
If the Driver arrives too early, he/she will be forced to wait (Idle Time).
Both the 12-hour (am/pm) and 24-hour (military) clock formats are supported. For values greater than midnight, add a (+1) at the end.
Examples of valid time formats are: 12:23am, 00:23, 3:56pm, 15:56, 3:56pm (+1), 15:56 (+1), 3:56pm (+2), 15:56 (+2)
Defaults to 00:00.
Time Window End Same meaning as in the input template.
This optional field shows the latest time allowed to begin service at this Order.
Defaults to empty value (open time window).
Time Window 2 Start Same meaning as in the input template.
You can set a second Time Window for Orders which can be served, for example, in the morning and in the afternoon but not during lunch break. Here you set the earliest possible time allowed for service to begin during the second Time Window.
Time Window 2 End Same meaning as in the input template.
You define here the latest possible time allowed for service to begin during the second Time Window.
Order Type Same meaning as in the input template.
By recognizing an Order as P (pick up) or D (delivery) the Route Planner can make sure Load Capacity values are never exceeded in case of routes which combine pick ups and drop offs.
Load Depending on the Type field, this field corresponds to the Limited Load Capacity of a Driver' Vehicle or the Load Units request of a Work Order
Load 2 Depending on the Type field, this field corresponds to a second Limited Load Capacity of a Driver' Vehicle or the Load Units request of a Work Order
Load 3 Depending on the Type field, this field corresponds to a third Limited Load Capacity of a Driver' Vehicle or the Load Units request of a Work Order
Service Time Same meaning as in the input template.
This optional numeric field indicates the time IN MINUTES that the Driver is expected to spend at the Order's address to provide the service.
Defaults to 0 (it means that the Driver will drive by the address of that Order without stopping).
Driver Skills Same meaning as in the input template (only for Type = Start)
Required Skills Same meaning as in the inpute template. This optional field contains a comma-separated list of mandatory Driver skills. If set, only Drivers defining *all* the Skills in this list can serve the Order.
Banned Skills Same meaning as in the inpute template. This optional field contains a comma-separated list of banned Driver skills. If set, Drivers defining one or more of the Skills listed here will *not* serve the Order. In case of conflicts, Banned Skills take precedence over Required Skills.
Notes Same meaning as in the input template. This optional field allows you to add useful notes and reminders for your Drivers. It does not affect the optimization process.
Driving Time The driving time between each pair of Work Orders in the optimized sequences. The Driving Time is minimized by our routing optimization and it is an output of our processing.
Idle Time This may occur only in case of Time Windows. It is the estimation of the Drivers' waiting time if they are routed to a certain Work Order before the relevant Time Window starts. The Idle Time is minimized by our routing optimization and it is an output of our processing.
Stop Number The position of the Work Order in each optimized Stop Sequence.
Driving Miles Total mileage of each route.
Tot Working Time Total Driving time + Total Service time (+ Total Idle Time, if any) for each route.
Tot Drive Time Total Driving time for each route.
Tot Idle Time Total Idle time (if any) for each route.
Tot Service Time Total Service Time for each route.
